We decided to share this special mid-week entry (which we acknowledge has been coming for some time from our last entry – we do apologise for being busy!) as this special gallery feature is ending in a few days time. The special Gallery Feature by Yayoi Kusama at the National Gallery has been going on since early June, and is set to wrap up on 3rd September 2017. We decided to share our experiences visiting the gallery, learning and appreciating art through the eyes of Yayoi Kusama!
For most of our cameras featured thus far, we have been aided with the use of viewfinders/rangefinders with either auto-focusing or manual focusing functions. However, there comes a time where we encounter a certain camera which does not have the above capabilities! In those situations, we really had to consider how to focus on our photo subjects well without such focusing functions… and that’s where zone focusing fills in that gap!
It’s been some time since we last posted an entry… two weeks in fact! We have been really busy, but we also did not want to leave our readers hanging! In fact, this week’s entry has been something we have been wanting to share about. In fact if you were astute, you might have noticed a sneaky draft entry being uploaded. It is not photography-related, but it’s about the Liebster Award!
We have been looking forward to visiting the ArtScience Museum by the Marina Bay Sands since we heard about Future World exhibition. A visual and auditory exhibition, it involves the use of technology and human input to immerse the visitors. We were especially keen of a particular installation featuring 170,000 LED lights (as seen later), so look out for that! We also visited other concurrent exhibitions, but we will write about them very soon (in a separate entry).
Christmas is really just around the corner! At this time, we’re sure that most of you would be finding Christmas gifts and making (or buying…) Christmas cards. This entry is dedicated to some Christmas cards ideas we have utilised this year, naturally using instant films, such as the Instax mini and the Impossible Project film.
This week, we found out that the Asian Civilisation Museum was opening its doors for free this past weekend (3-4 September), so with a piqued interest about the exhibitions being held there, we decided to check it out, along with our camera companions!
Singapore may be a relatively young state (compared to many Western countries), but like any independent, sovereign country (except for England!), we too celebrate our independence! Every year on 9th August, Singapore celebrates on National Day with a large-scale parade (National Day Parade, or NDP). The parade is full of lively and engaging spectacles, from marching troops to elaborate stage performances, to the most anticipated event, the fireworks! Read on to enjoy the exclusive sneak peak of this year’s NDP!
