Bokehlicious Christmas Wonderland at Gardens By the Bay

Hey everyone!

2018 is coming to an end, and this time of the year can only mean one thing: Christmas and New Year celebrations! Indeed, we revisited a familiar scene and sight to capture the festive spirit and mood: Christmas Wonderland @ Gardens By the Bay!

The perennial attractions included the luminarie light sculptures, fun carnival games and rides, an ice-skating rink, an authentic ‘snowing’ experience and plenty of food options. With our brand new Fujifilm GFX 50R and Mamiya RB67 (with Instax Wide back), we explored Gardens by the Bay with a sense of purpose and cheerfulness.

Labrador Park with the RB67 Pro SD x Modified Instax Square Back

Hey everyone!

So we managed to get away from our work during the busy weekdays to go shoot some photos at Labrador Park! Located at the southern point of Singapore, the park also links to an unused jetty where locals fish during the weekend. We decided to try out the Mamiya RB67 Pro SD with a modified Instax Square back! We also brought out our trusty Fujifilm X-Pro2 adapted with a Jupiter-3 50mm lens to capture the medium format camera at work.

Eid Mubarak, and Geylang Serai Once Again!

Hey everyone!

On 15th June 2018, Muslims around the world commemorated the end of the Ramadan Festival, completing their 30-day fasting cycle for the year. At the same time, the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar was also in full swing, carrying on throughout the night and attracting loads of hungry visitors to the tantalizing food-stalls! Last year, we enjoyed the succulent and unique food treats on offer, and this year was no different! This year, there were some new carnival rides for the young and older folks to enjoy.

Hanging out with the Animals @ the Singapore Zoo!

Hey everyone!

This week we revisit a favourite tourist location in Singapore, but one which we locals love to enjoy too: the Singapore Zoo! In our younger days, visiting the Zoo was a highlight, as we learnt more about the different animals that existed! This time, we were back as adults, but ready to be youthful learners of the Animal Kingdom!

Low Lights at iLight @ Marina Bay 2018!

Hey everyone!

We took some time out of our busy schedule to gander around the Central Business District to visit the yearly iLight (@ Marina Bay) Festival! A well-received light art festival occurring in March each year, it is no surprise that the CBD area was bustling with visitors once again! Keen to capture memories like last year’s edition, we were excited to use our cameras once again and test our steady hands to manage the low-lights setting!

Year of the Dog – Chinatown in 35mm!

Hey everyone!

Happy Chinese New Year to our readers! Every year we dedicate a post to the celebration of a brand new year in the Chinese calendar, and this year is no different! Once again, we traveled to the heart of Chinese tradition in Singapore: Chinatown! This time, we kept things simple and used a Canon EOS 55, a relatively modern 35mm film camera (with auto-focus and auto-exposure settings) with a 50mm f/1.4 STM lens and Kodak ColourPlus 200 film.

Capturing Flora and Fauna @ Singapore Botanic Gardens!

Hi everyone,

To usher in the new year, we decided to go to the Singapore Botanic Gardens to see what we could capture at Singapore’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site! We armed ourselves with a number of cameras, including the Fujifilm X-T10 (with the Kamlan f/1.1, 50mm lens), a modified Land 180 Camera (with a Lomo’Instant Wide back) and a Seagull TLR (for 120 film)! Although it may seem a little overwhelming to possess so many cameras for a single trip, the key is to use the right camera for the right occasion!
