Awestruck by the Cherry Blossoms (Sakura) @ Gardens by the Bay!

Hey everyone!

We are soooooooooo excited to bring you this week’s entry, because for the first time, we got to see cherry blossoms in Singapore! Yes, these Japanese sakura were brought in from Japan, and immediately hyped up many Singaporeans to head to Gardens by the Bay, where the man-made garden held these beautiful flowers! We knew this was an opportunity to brush up on our macro/close-up photography, so we had our trusty Fujfilm X-T10 and the Mamiya Modified Instant Back for us to use!

Vintage Flea Market and LAKSA (!) @ Katong!

Hey everyone!

This week we are back with a trip to Katong, a neighbourhood known for its famous Perenakan-style food and culture! We visited this unique location because we were alerted to a vintage flea market in that area, and decided to check it out! We had with us our new SLR 670s (using Impossible Project’s 600 Colour film) and a nifty digital camera, the Carbon One Mini, which exterior replicates the Polaroid Onestep!

A Tribute to Rochor’s Hidden Secrets

This week’s entry is a tribute to a few places that sadly won’t be around after 2017: the Rochor Centre (which we visited last year and featured on our website), and the Sungei Road Thieves’ Market (a place we described in detail on our website too).  It has been many months since we explored the locations, and to imagine that these gems will be gone for good is a sad thought. Therefore, we decided to visit these locations one last time!

More Exhibitions @ the ArtScience Museum

Hey everyone!

Following from our earlier website entry, the Future World Exhibition, we continue our fascinations with museum! We loooooove going to museums in general, because it gives us a chance to gain knowledge about events and experiences that we normally would not encounter in our daily lives! The ArtScience Museum is one such location which allows us to do so. We attended two exhibitions which is still being hosted there (at the time of this entry): NASA – A Human Adventure and Journey to Infinity: Escher’s World of Wonder. Here, we brought our dependable cameras, namely the the Fujifilm XT-10 and the Mint Instantflex!

Ambling Along Changi Beach and Coastal Walk

This week, we head to the far east of Singapore to explore Changi Beach and the Changi Point Costal Walk, which extends alongside the beach. We chose to utilise the public holiday (of Chinese New Year) to visit a secluded location and take some non-urban photos (which has dominated our website for the past few weeks, admittedly).

Year of the Rooster – Treading the Streets of Chinatown!

Hey everyone!

To all our Chinese readers, we wish everyone a happy Lunar New Year! Indeed this year is the Year of the Rooster (following the Chinese Zodiac), and as you might have guessed, we headed down to the one location that epitomises the Chinese culture: Chinatown!

Chinatown (or 牛车水, referencing carts filled with water which was lugged around by bulls in the past) has been the location for our photography adventures many times (during last year’s Chinese New Year celebrations and the Mooncake Festival in 2015 and 2016), and this year it really is no different! The hustle-and-bustle of the locale makes it a challenging exercise in capturing the festivity as it happens. Nevertheless, we had a new gear in the Petzval 58mm Bokeh Art Lens that would surely enhance our experience and bring some variety to our photos.
