This week we cover our last two days in Taiwan! The trip was mostly winding down to an end, but we intended to make full use of the remaining time we had left in the unpredictably fun city of Taipei!

Dakota Crescent is one of Singapore’s oldest public housing. Built in the late 1950s, the iconic architecture have long been taken for granted. But since the announcement to redevelop the antiquated houses, no small amount of visitors have flocked to the quaint and unassuming housing estate, hoping to capture the last vestiges of Singapore’s first public housing.

This week, we cover our hike through the heart of Singapore (literally), at two scenic reservoirs, namely the Upper Peirce and Lower Peirce Reservoir. These neighbouring reservoirs serve as water catchment areas, and form part of the network of the Central Catchment Nature Reserve. Further, the flora and fauna surrounding the reservoirs provide a natural setting for visitors and hikers alike! We had the benefit and guidance of Sandra’s close friend, Sarah, to lead us in this naturalistic adventure around some of Singapore’s oldest reservoirs!
Many of our close friends know that we have a keen interest in film cameras! Our initial knowledge and exposure (pun intended eh heh) of film cameras was the Holga Camera (notwithstanding those disposable film cameras we grew up using). While researching online about the different types of Holga cameras, we stumbled upon a variety of Holga accessories, including Holga lenses for DSLRs cameras and iPhones, phone apps mimicking Holga effects, Holga lenses for Fuji Instax cameras, DIGITAL Holga cameras and even “Holgaroids” (Instant Film backing with Holga cameras).
Clearly, we were spoilt for choice!
Hello everyone! This weekend marks the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and is commemorated by Christians worldwide. We wish everyone a fruitful Easter Weekend! Unfortunately, with the weekend almost cover it’s time to get back to work/school/ bumming around (eh heh).
This week, we visit an old landmark in Singapore’s history, and it has to do with trains! The Tanjong Pagar Railway Station was built in 1932, and as the former main train station in Singapore, trains took passengers to and from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. The railway station was eventually closed in 2011, and it was gazetted as a national monument. Woodlands Checkpoint still has train services, so don’t fret if you need your ‘quick’ getaway to Malaysia or simply wish to try out a train that doesn’t run on MRT tracks (eh heh).
